Hi there this is Steve Reifman, founder of the Reifman Law Firm. I’d like to talk to you a little bit about the new day in Michigan No Fault Auto Insurance. It started on July 2nd, 2020, the law was passed in June of 2019, but many of the most important aspects of it don’t come into effect until July 2020.
The most important thing is that you’ll have various types of No Fault Insurance coverages known as Personal Insurance Protection that you can choose from. This is going to be demanding. You’re going to need to talk to your insurance agent, you’re gonna need to shop around and figure out whether or not this is the best thing for you to do.
Ultimately, a coverage called Umbrella Insurance, or also called Excess Liability Insurance, is going to be important to you because there may be gaps in the insurance coverage that you’re purchasing. And, the only way to make sure there aren’t any gaps is to buy that Excess Umbrella coverage.
